As a performer, Monica Kapoor spent seven years on Broadway performing in the global smash hit Mamma Mia! She has appeared on NBC’s Smash, as a dancer and as a Bollywood expert assisting the Emmy Award winning choreographer, Joshua Bergasse.
Monica has also appeared as a dancer on CBS’s Limitless. She has toured with the first national production of Bombay Dreams under the direction of Baayork Lee. She has also toured with Sukbhir, RDB, Shehzad Roy, and many other major Indian and Pakistani pop artists.
As a choreographer, Monica has assisted Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler on a workshop of his new original musical.Her other choreography credits include: Honour: Confessions of a Mumbai Courtesan, A Great Dive, Broadway Bares, Broadway’s Easter Bonnet Competition, Broadway’s Artists for World Peace, Cafe Mom’s I’ll take that Dare, as well as commercial and music video spots.
Monica has worked with recording artists including Mariah Carey, P. Diddy, Thalia, and Carlos Santana. She has also appeared in print and commercial ads for Macy’s, Subway, MTV, IBM, American Baby Magazine, and Redbook Magazine.
In addition to performing, Monica has both a Bachelors and Masters degree in education with a specialization in Dance. Monica has taught dance at numerous elementary schools, high schools, and universities as well as given workshops and master classes across the country.

Read less“Bollywood” refers to the major film industry in India. Most Bollywood films are musicals, which contain beautiful and elaborate dance numbers.
This class will explore the world of Bollywood dance as well as India’s beautiful and vibrant culture. Routines will encompass everything from classical and folk dancing to a more fusion-based style, combining traditional steps with western and contemporary movements.
Classes will include a warm-up, combination, and stretching/strengthening exercises. This is an open level class that welcomes all! Dress in non-restrictive clothing and bare feet or supportive footwear.
