Selene Haro started her journey in dance summer of 2010. In 2013 she became a proud member of the professional adult dance team Choreo Cookies and danced with them up until January 2020. In the Summer of 2018, she became a supporting cast member of Keone and Mari Madrid’s now Off-Broadway show, Beyond Babel. Approaching her 10th year in dance, her mentors and peers along her journey have provided her with tools including, but not limited to, teaching and leading.
With putting these tools to use, Selene has had the opportunity to teach in various countries around the world (such as New Zealand, China, Switzerland, Spain, Indonesia, Russia, and so on), co-create a project team with Isidro Rafael (known as Meraki), and co-direct Studio FX’s junior team Syde FX. She has worked with people of all ages from preschool-age children classes to private sessions with people that have chosen to give dance a shot later in life.
Selene is currently residing in New York City performing for Beyond Babel and preparing for upcoming endeavors. Although away from home, she remains an instructor at Building Block. She values sharing the importance of experiencing, adapting, and evolving in both dance and life, in addition to leading by example. She strongly believes that she is a product of multiple people and always finds excitement in sharing with others what she had been taught, along with any realizations that she’s come to through her own experiences.
